Plastics free solutions

Plastic packaging has become the industry standard on tissue products over the last 30 years.

Accrol’s move to offer the first plastic-free tissue packaging solution has been driven by high profile campaigns, led by the marine conservation society, on the environmental impact of plastic waste.

The Group has worked closely with its supply partners over the last six months to develop a new, commercially viable and environmentally beneficial paper wrap packaging solution for all its products.

To support this, Accrol has teamed up with the Marine Conservation Society to offer proven quality products in plastic free packaging, giving the consumer the option of a more environmentally friendly product at a discount to big brand prices.

Reducing our impact

Accrol is committed to minimising its impact on the environment. All our paper and tissue waste is transformed into new products, including cardboard, newspaper or recycled tissue, within 14 days of collection. We are also working closely with existing and sourcing new partners to ensure that Accrol achieves its goal of zero landfill from waste within the next three years.

Energy consumption is another key area of focus. We continue to invest in new machinery and further automation to reduce energy consumption year on year. The Group has already reduced transport miles by 30% by closing its Skelmersdale distribution hub and we continue to collaborate with our customers on how we might better move product to reduce transport miles.

Accrol is now offering this plastic-free packaging to its customers, which include the major discounters and grocery retailers, enabling them to help consumers reduce single-use plastic consumption.
